Hi Charles, I’m afraid I don’t have any further information on Everard, who was the artist. I found the artwork on the Art UK website (www.artuk.org), which is attempting to list every single artwork held by public bodies in the UK. This particular painting is held by the Durham County Council, so maybe there is a way of contacting the Council and seeing if they have more information about the artist – in theory, if they purchased the painting, or received it as a donation, there should be a record of that somewhere. I don’t think Everard was a well known painter at all, this painting seems to be the only one by Everard held by a public body in the UK. Hope this helps!

Thank you that’s great to know. I have a painting by Everard which has been handed down the family. It is of Lindisfarne Castle but I know nothing of the artist or how it came to us. I will try the council!
